Matthew Allen is a Director in the Cabot Corporation global Safety, Health and Environment department and is based at their Research and Development facility in Billerica, MA. As Director of Process Safety, Mr. Allen responsible for developing and leading the implementation of the Cabot Process Safety Initiative across the 44 manufacturing facilities in 21 countries around the globe. Matt provides strategic direction to Cabot senior leadership and standards and guidelines for the safe operations at our manufacturing and research and development facilities worldwide. The standards and guidelines supplement local regulations and permits, and often go beyond compliance. By acting responsibly and promoting safety and environmental excellence throughout our organization, Cabot has maintained our leadership position among global chemical manufacturing companies with a world-class safety record.
Prior to his work at Cabot Corporation, Mr. Allen was an Associate Director with the international consulting firm Arthur D. Little. While with AD Little, he led multi-disciplinary teams of consultants and industry experts in the first comprehensive environmental, health, safety and operational integrity assessment of the Trans Alaskan Pipeline System. As Deputy Project Manager, coordinated project scheduling, staffing, and deliverables for Arthur D. Little staff conducting comprehensive safety management assessments at major Department of Energy weapons and research facilities.
Mr. Allen holds a B. S. in Resource and Environmental Economics from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and is pursuing an MBA in Operations Management from The Olin School at Babson College in Wellesley, MA.
