Phil is a microbial ecologist with expertise in the human microbiome and the gut-brain-axis. He received his PhD from Northeastern University in Boston, MA, where he focused on cultivating unique bacteria from the human gut microbiota, as well as studying their ability to modulate neurotransmitters. He is now CEO and Co-Founder of Holobiome, a gut-brain-axis microbiome company located in Cambridge, MA. Here he leads a team of leaders in neuroscience, microbiology, and drug development, with the goal to translate microbiome science into interventions to treat diseases of the nervous system.
