Leeland Ekstrom is the Chief Operating Officer and founder of Nashville Biosciences. NashBio is a unique data and analytics-driven biotech company that partners with pharmaceutical, diagnostics and other life sciences companies to drive the discovery and development of new therapeutics and diagnostics by leveraging Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s unparalleled genomic and bioinformatics resources.
Prior to joining VUMC to lead the creation of NashBio, Leeland was an Associate Principal with McKinsey & Company. As a consultant, Leeland focused on both innovation (e.g., genomics / personalized medicine, R&D productivity) and commercial strategy engagements for a wide range biopharma, diagnostics, medical device, and health system clients. He led McKinsey's Personalized Medicine initiative, authoring several external publications and supporting consulting teams around the world on this topic.
Leeland holds a PhD in Health Sciences & Technology from MIT.
