Sarah Haywood is the Director of the Advanced Therapies Network (ATN) and the CEO of MedCity. Sarah's career has spanned business and operational management in the NHS, the pharmaceutical industry (Operations Head for Novartis Institute for Medical Sciences) and government. Sarah was head of the UK Department for Business Bioscience Unit. In 2013, Sarah started work with the Mayor of London and the Academic Health Science Centres of London to set up MedCity - a not for profit organisation focused on facilitating connectivity across the academic, health services, industry and investment communities, with a focus on the "Golden Triangle" of London, Cambridge and Oxford. The Advanced Therapies Network is powered by MedCity. Sarah has a first degree in Biology for the Unviersity of Oxford and holds a post graduate diploma and MA in management. Sarah is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management and has been recognised a leader in flexible working practices.
