Dr. Francoise Simon is Professor Emerita at Columbia University and Senior Faculty, Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She was previously a Principal at EY and held management positions at Novartis and Abbvie.
She has gained worldwide recognition as the author if 5 books, including in 2017, with Glen Giovannetti, Managing Biotechnology: From Science to Market in the Digital Age (Wiley, China edition in 2019). The book covers the digital transformation of biopharma, from R&D optimization with analytics to enhanced engagement with patients and physicians, and the new role of Infotechs, from Apple and Amazon to Alphabet and IBM. It has been widely endorsed and adopted in many schools, and includes cases contributed by leaders from Alnylam, Sanofi, Celgene and BMS.
Dr. Simon has chaired and spoken at several BIO panels, including in 2018 Digital Transformation in the Life Sciences, with senior executives from Celgen, Pfizer, EY and Havas. She is a past Vice President of the American Marketing Association and a Council Member of the American Management Association.
