Renewable chemicals have been synthesized as alternatives to petroleum based chemicals instigated by public private partnerships, government funding, and increased B2B partnerships. In many instances these renewable chemicals are preferentially synthesized using heavy automation technologies instead of traditional methodologies. Renewable chemical companies are rapidly moving from initial target identification and validation, through assay development, high throughput screening, hit identification, lead optimization and finally the selection of a desired renewable chemical. Presentations will be given in this session by renewable chemical companies using strain engineering to improve efficiency and efficacy.
