The field of regenerative medicine, which is a branch of translational research in tissue engineering and molecular biology dealing with the process of regenerating human cells, tissues or organs to restore or establish normal function, is not new. Stem cell therapies have been attempted for years, yet a slew of startup companies are diving back in with new ways of addressing therapeutic discovery and development. From the development of progenitor cell activation therapies to the exploration of exosome therapeutics, regenerative medicine has been given a new face and a new mission in a world where innovation drives drug development.
This panel will look to examine and discuss the ways regenerative medicine is being revived in the biotech industry and how some companies are using these new techniques and platforms to create better, faster, safer and potentially curative treatment options for a multitude of disease indications.
